H. Gürbüz Sarı (Attorney at Law) was born in 1976 in Sinop, Türkiye. He graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1995 and from Galatasaray University, Faculty of Law in 2000.
Following the completion of his legal internship in 2001, he served as a legal expert before the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) between 2001 and 2005, focusing primarily on cases concerning violations of the right to property, the right to a fair trial, and freedom of expression.
Mr. Sarı completed his master’s degree in the European Union Program at Galatasaray University in 2003. From 2004 to 2007, he was a doctoral student and researcher at Paris-Sorbonne University, specializing in public procurement law.
Upon returning to Türkiye in 2005, he worked as legal counsel to various multinational corporate groups until 2009. In 2009, he founded SARILEGAL Law Firm and, through 2025, has been involved in managing and litigating over one thousand disputes and cases across a wide range of practice areas, including corporate and commercial law, intellectual property and industrial property law, and real estate law. He acts as legal advisor to numerous technology developers and software companies. In 2025, he led the establishment of Lexaria Attorneys at Law. Mr. Sarı is the author of the books Protection of Property Rights under the European Convention on Human Rights (On İki Levha Publishing, 2006; 2010) and Protection and Commercialisation of Intellectual Property in Computer Software (Seçkin Publishing, 2023; 2025).
He also serves as a visiting lecturer at the engineering faculties of various universities, teaching courses such as “Intellectual Property Rights in Software,” “AI Ethics and Regulation,” and “Law of Technology Startups.”
